Massage Therapy
How Massage Therapy Works:
Our registered massage therapists are extremely skilled and professional. Registered Massage Therapy involves a wide range of manual techniques applied to the body's soft tissues (muscles, tendons, fascia) and joints. They will meet with you for an assessment and offer treatments to help you. The therapy is usually pain-free; however, some discomfort may occur during or after the treatment. The therapists can alter their pressure from light touch to deep tissue at your request.
The goals and purpose of Registered Massage Therapy within Damen Optimal Health and Fitness are to relieve pain and rehabilitate so you can have a maintainable improvement in your body's physical function. Research has shown therapeutic massage relaxes muscles, increases circulation, promotes lymphatic flow, improves the healing time of strained ligaments and muscular tissues, reduces inflammation in joints, improves range of motion, reduces one's heart rate and assists in increasing endorphins, the body's natural way of relieving pain.
It is a clinically oriented health option that achieves excellent results when treating the discomforts arising from stress, muscular overuse and many other chronic pain syndromes.

No referral is necessary to be assessed or treated by one of our registered massage therapists. We welcome patients referred by their family doctor or other healthcare professionals. Many insurance companies require a referral.
